What changes mechanically<\/h2>\n

Before scaling, record any changes made during prototype assembly. Hand fitting, shim changes or ad-hoc lubricant choices should be captured before the production drawing is frozen.<\/p>\n

Small worm gearing is sensitive to the relationship between the two members. Module or nominal size is only one coordinate. The mating definition also includes starts, hand, ratio, center distance, tooth system, material pairing and the way both components are located by bearings or hubs.<\/p>\n

How to select or specify it<\/h2>\n

Define an approval sample or first-article plan, then set measurable inspection requirements for repeat lots.<\/p>\n

For a useful technical review, add the operating conditions: input speed, expected output torque, duty cycle, reversing frequency, ambient temperature and lubrication method. These inputs help separate a geometry question from a material, wear or thermal question.<\/p>\n

What to verify before release<\/h2>\n

Provide expected annual volume when requesting the sample. Tooling, process planning and batch economics can differ significantly between a few trial pieces and recurring production.<\/p>\n
